Funkrust Brass Band, a 20-piece post-apocalyptic disco-punk brass band playing all original music with megaphone vocals, heavy tuba bass lines, thundering percussion and searing brass melodies. Their explosive live performances feature full band choreography, signature wasteland/glam uniforms and LED lighting effects.

DJ Mr. Realistic:

DJ Mr. Realistic and Real Art Ways have a longstanding relationship! He has been our house DJ for CCH for many years, and is the owner of My House Radio, a multicultural, award-winning internet broadcast radio station focusing on all genres of house music.

Exhibition Opening: Burn the Midnight Oil

Real Art Award Recipient Ying Ye

Ying Ye is an interdisciplinary Chinese artist who incorporates her family’s tradition of cooking into her work. She is concerned with cultural identity and how themes of place, home, and diaspora can cultivate form. Ye’s work addresses the “burden that younger generations of Asians and Asian Americans [experience] in American culture.”

Call for Artists!

Each year, Real Art Ways encourages emerging artists to apply for the Real Art Awards. If you are an artist, know an artist, or want to learn more information, please visit our website below!

In addition to a $2,500 prize, six artists will receive a solo exhibit at Real Art Ways, an exhibition publication with essay, curatorial assistance, and the opportunity for an artist talk. Submissions are open through Monday, 7/24!

In the spring of 2023, the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam opened its doors to the largest Vermeer exhibition in history. The show sold out within days of going on sale. This film offers you the chance to experience the exhibition of the century on the big screen. A truly once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to discover the genius of Vermeer and his fascinating and mysterious life.

With loans from across the world, this major retrospective brings together Vermeer’s most famous masterpieces including Girl with a Pearl Earring, The Geographer, The Milkmaid, The Little Street, Lady Writing a Letter with her Maid, and Woman Holding a Balance.

Real Art Ways was recently awarded a grant from Connecticut Humanities to support our participation in the CT Summer at the Museum initiative!

Funding for the initiative is provided by the CT General Assembly, with the support of Connecticut Humanities and the Department of Economic and Community Development, Office of the Arts, which also receives support from the federal ARPA.
