THE POWER OF COMMUNITY

What’s next for OVF?

It is hard to believe that the 28th season of the Open VISIONS Forum has come to a close. We want to thank you for being a part of an incredible, inspiring series! This year we came together as a community to experience thought-provoking speakers who encouraged us to engage in dialogue with each other, to think about our political landscape, to determine how we define being a part of a local community, and to read and learn about our history to make different decisions for our future.

The Open VISIONS Forum, founded and moderated by Special Assistant to the President for Arts and Culture Philip Eliasoph, PhD, continues to welcome impressive speakers who not only reach our broader audience, but engage excitedly with our students in their related field of study. Who could forget seeing students help lead our conversation with Bari Weiss this fall? What a delight to see Stuart Weitzman invite Dolan School of Business students on stage, each wearing a pair of his signature shoes! And what an inspiration to have author Janet Wallach join students in our Women, Gender, and Sexuality Studies program over dinner to discuss her books and experiences with her non-profit organization.

Thank you for an amazing season! With our 35th anniversary on the horizon, we are excited to share our 2025-26 season in late June. If you aren’t yet a Quick Member, we encourage you to join today to get first access to announcements.

ARTS FOR ALL

Fairfield University students making an impact

There was a whole lot of excitement in Stags Country with STAGiving Day taking place on March 19. Fairfield University raised $3.9 million with donations made by more than 4,600 donors from more than 38 states and nine countries. This effort secured a total of more than $3.9 million to advance opportunities and resources for students across research, scholarships, clubs, athletics, and more at Fairfield.

What made the day feel extra special was the impact made by our own Fairfield University students. The Alumni Engagement and Annual Giving office held a Senior Class Trivia event on March 19. The winning team would receive $150 to designate to a program of their choice. We were so honored that a team of soon-to-be Fairfield U. graduates chose the Quick’s Arts for All program, excited that their funds would ensure 40 K-12th grade students would be able to take the bus to come see a performance at the Quick next season.

We want to extend our gratitude to everyone who supported STAGiving Day at the Quick. We raised more than $10,000 to support our Arts for All program which will make a huge difference not only for K-12th grade students to attend performances, but to support our Arts & Social Change Fellowship, which engages a Fairfield University undergraduate student in their pursuit to connect the arts with social impact and educational work. Thank you!
