American Archives Month focuses on the importance of records of enduring value and recognizes people and programs responsible for maintaining our communities’ vital historical records.
“Join us to learn more about how our staff make your history accessible to you,?” said Shane Molander, state archivist.
Free public programs are available throughout October.

Archivists will showcase treasures from the archival collections in the State Museum’s Corridor of History on Oct. 4, 12, 20, and 25 between 9 and 11 a.m.

The State Archives is located in the North Dakota Heritage Center & State Museum in Bismarck. Hours are 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, and the second Saturday of each month, 10 a.m.-4:30 p.m. The ND Heritage Center & State Museum is open Monday through Friday, 8 a.m.-5 p.m., and Saturday-Sunday, 10 a.m.-5 p.m. For more information, visit history.nd.gov/archives or call 701.328.2091.
