Your Favorite Paleo Team Made News

One mammal's skeleton is another man's treasure!

Construction crews have been busy boring into the rock of our basement to dig footings for a brand-new collections space. Naturally, our paleontologists monitored the work and found evidence of fossil calms, snails, and marine invertebrate burrows!

Karlene Chavis at Channel 8 came by to share about the discoveries beneath the Museum and the importance of these fossils.

Kids Go Free in October

It's the most wonderful time... in San Diego!

You read that right. During October, children 12 and under receive free general admission to The Nat with a paid adult.

Presented by the San Diego Tourism Authority and San Diego Museum Council, Kids Free San Diego offers more than 100 deals on activities, attractions, meals, and more during the month of October.

This is a great time to join us on Saturdays for Nature Studio, meet Huxley the Harris's Hawk, or say hello to the animals in Living Lab.

Come Watch Paint Dry

A new mural is coming to our Atrium.

When you swing by in the first couple of weeks in October, you might get a glimpse of local artist Eva Struble in action painting a 33-foot mural in the Atrium!

Eva Struble, a San Diego-based artist, will bring the outdoors in, painting a mural inspired by specimens in the Museum's collection and showcasing the incredible biodiversity in our region and the Baja California Peninsula.

If you can't make it to see Eva painting high in the air on a lift, be sure to stop by in late October to see the completed mural!
