From: San Diego Natural History MuseumIt Rains Purple in San Diego
The Jacaranda trees are popping off!
If you've been around San Diego for a while, you are no stranger to the Jacaranda tree. These non-native trees bloom their blue-purple flowers in late May and continue to show off throughout the humid months. Check out what else you can see around Southern California this summer.
Numbers Don't Lie
Nat at Night is the place to be.
Last Friday night, over 1,100 people kicked off their weekend with us at Nat at Night. This week, get in touch with your crafty side and stop by a table with Sketchparty and then take your best guesses at some trivia questions.
Next week during Nat at Night, on July 28, we will have a special moth lighting event by the Moreton Bay Fig Tree!
So, not to play into your FOMO, but you should come hang out with us soon. We have something for everyone!
You Can Make a Difference for the Future of Natural History
Give a legacy gift to The Nat.
A legacy gift to The Nat is a great way to make a significant difference for something you care about. By naming The Nat as a beneficiary in your will, IRA, or trust, you can help study, preserve, and protect this amazing place we call home. It's easier than you may think. Learn more about the Museum's Live Oaks Society here or contact Eowyn Bates.
While You're Here...
It's HOT. Fortunately, you can still escape to the trails without all the heat.
Speaking of, beat the heat and hang out at the Museum from 10 AM-7 PM during the week. Admission is half-priced after 5 PM.
BRB, hand-counting 5,000 tadpoles.
