We’ve been celebrating our 150th anniversary with free birthday admission, Merch-A-Month, a historical exhibit, and a free native plant garden for the community. Now, we’re excited to announce our fall calendar of events that take place around the anniversary of our founding (which was October 1874). Save the date!

Big Birthday Bash!

Get ready for the party of the century (and a half). Our biggest fundraising event of the year takes place on Friday, September 27. You’ll enjoy great food from renowned chefs, signature cocktails, live music, scientist meet-and-greets, and a silent auction of cool stuff.

Secret Society of Adultologists: Wonderland

Craving a more casual event, but one that’s just as wonder-ful? On Friday, September 13, the Secret Society of Adultologists (for ages 21+) takes on an Alice in Wonderland theme. Featuring hands-on activities, weird science, entertainment, craft cocktails, and yummy food available for purchase.

If going behind the scenes is your jam, don’t miss our annual Member Night on Tuesday, October 8. Check out the labs, peek into the research collections, and chat with scientists. It’s our way of saying thank you for supporting us. Not a member? There’s still time to join and get in on the action.

Nat Talk: Look What We Found in the Archives

On Tuesday, October 23, Research Library Director Arie Hammond will dig into the fascinating stories behind the artifacts, documents, and photographs that have shaped our last 150 years. Attend this talk to learn about the dedicated individuals whose contributions have been instrumental in preserving these treasures from our archives.
