Our Borderlands are Bursting with Biodiversity
You can contribute to protecting these lands.
As gaps in the border wall are closing, vast stretches of borderlands are being left unmitigated. Scientists are key players in the fight to protect borderland species, but local communities can take these matters into their own hands too. Tune into our virtual Nat Talk on March 21 to learn how you can help in protecting these unique habitats.
Tales From the Trails
Hear from our Canyoneers.
Our Canyoneers have been providing free nature-led tours of San Diego County for 50 years—surely, they have some stories to tell.
Read our latest blog to learn about their favorite hiking spots, why they value time in nature, and their dreams for the next 50 years of this fantastic program.
Check out the Canyoneers latest Earth 8 special with Chief Meteorologist Karlene Chavis as she joined them on a recent hike.
The Canyoneers program is made possible by a dedicated group of volunteer naturalists and program partner Subaru of America.
See You at the Library
Spring into STEAM!
We’re pleased to partner with San Diego Public Library to inspire curiosity and bring science into the lives of youngsters. Our educators will be at select local libraries in March, April, and May as part of the Library’s Spring into STEAM program. We’ll look at real fossils, facilitate hands-on activities, and talk about all things paleontology.
