AZ01 and AZ06 Congressmen David Schweikert and Juan Ciscomani have been completely silent regarding Republican attacks on Social Security and Medicare that would impact over 600,000 Arizonans who depend on the programs to make ends meet and Arizonans are noticing.

“Trump’s billionaire friends are ruining our economy, making it harder for you to put food on your table, making it harder for your kids to get a good public education, and now saying you don’t deserve the hard-earned money you’ve worked your entire life for,” said Arizona Democratic Party Chairman Robert E. Branscomb, II. “It’s insulting to the millions of people who have diligently paid into this program and deserve to retire with dignity. This is not the America we want to be. Arizona’s Democrats are prepared to fight back for our seniors and are truly the last line of defense against the awful policies coming out of Washington.”

Since taking office, the Trump Administration has enacted numerous disastrous policies that Schweikert and Ciscomani have supported including:

• Threatening to take away social security and medicare from seniors 
• Raise prescription drug prices 
• Put a 25% tax on families and businesses in the state through reckless tariffs
• Eliminate worker protections 
• Shut down the Department of Education 
• Fire public workers across the country
• Decimate National Institutes of Health funding for cancer research, Alzheimer’s prevention and treatment, and other life-saving healthcare
