SDG&E Potential Power Outages in Borrego Springs

SDG&E crews are scheduled to complete critical work in the Borrego Springs community the week of April 17. The work includes repairs and upgrades to overhead transmission and distribution lines and power poles to help create a stronger, more resilient energy grid.

Customers can expect a brief outage (less than 30 mins) on the morning of Mon, April 17 around 3 a.m. to transfer the electric service to the microgrid and supplemental generators, and another brief outage on the morning of Sat, April 22 around 3 a.m. as electric service is transferred back to the grid.

While our crews are working throughout the week on the power system in Borrego Springs, we are making every effort to keep the community energized while work is taking place. Intermittent outages are possible during the week and if you experience an outage, please visit SDGE.com/outages for more information and resources. We kindly ask that customers plan to reduce their energy use during this period as to not put additional strain on the microgrid and generators in order to keep the community energized.
