April at the Sedalia Center

April gets a bad reputation. The cruelest month? Really?? Yes, temperatures are all over the place; yes, some days it rains; yes, some days the dire wolf comes back from extinction; yes, some days the snakes and ticks and bugs are back - but didn't we miss them, a little bit? Didn't we miss the green grass, the golden-pink clouds at sparkling dawn, the birdsong, the long line at Liberty Creamery on a warm Friday afternoon? Didn't we miss the soft serve, people?! Isn't this the time of year we've all been waiting for??? Motion to rebrand April from The Cruelest Month to The Coolest Month. (All in favor, say: "Aye.") The month that segues us into spring for real, and then on into summer. Enjoy this frenetic threshold while it lasts. Come July we'll all be complaining again...

We can't wait to boogie our woogies at the Terrapin Mountain Earth Festival, Friday April 25th & Saturday 26th! And the annual Doc McCabe Bluegrass Festival, in association with Special Olympics of VA Area 24, will be here before we know it on Saturday, May 24th! The fun isn't limited to events, of course, as the Sedalia Center is available to rent for weddings, private parties, special presentations, family reunions, or just to have a quiet place for you and your buddies to come celebrate springtime in Sedalia.

See, April can be sweet and full of promise and beauty and joy. And, well, it can also be a ****. April - it's just like us.

Almost time for Terrapin

Green, green rocky road...  the Terrapin Mountain Earth Festival is just two weeks away! Join us Friday evening, April 25th for music from our good friends Brent Monster Band and The Coleman Brothers Band, and all day Saturday for a number of fun and educational workshops, including (but not limited to): a herd hike at Mountain Run Farm, yoga with Marisa Freeman, a crash course on pollinator gardens, intro to beekeeping with Heritage Apiary, a workshop on traditional plant-based medicines, and so much more. Saturday we'll also have groovy tunes in the afternoon long into the evening from local legends The KindCleophus James, and BigFoot County!! Can't wait to dance the night away? Register to camp out and reconnect with Mama Earth under the glow of Sedalia's starlit sky. Make it a weekend outdoors and get your advance tickets to Terrapin today!
