MADISON, WI - In case you missed it, Susan Crawford can’t be trusted to use sound judgment and protect Wisconsin communities.
SHOT:
Are you sure about that Susan…Wisconsin voters would say you didn’t get the facts right.
In 2020, Kevin Welton was found guilty of three counts of 1st Degree sexual assault of a child after sexually assaulting two young girls at a public pool. Under Wisconsin law, this crime is punishable by up to 60 years in prison for one count, meaning that Kevin Welton could have received a sentence of over 100 years for his heinous crimes. Susan Crawford thought this punishment too harsh for the child predator, sentencing him to only four years of confinement and ignoring the pleas of the victims’ parents, who asked Crawford to sentence Welton to at least nine years.
Susan Crawford heard testimony from one of the victims, who, nine years later, was still traumatized from the assault which happened when she was just six-years-old. However, this display of courage was not enough for Crawford to leave behind her soft-on-crime record. To Crawford, four years was a justifiable punishment for a repeat rapist who left two young girls with a lifetime of trauma. Unfortunately for Wisconsinites, Kevin Welton wasn’t the only criminal protected by Susan Crawford’s poor judgment.
Bottom Line: Susan Crawford cares more about a radical left agenda and coddling criminals than she does Wisconsinites. Her insidious approach to Welton’s sentencing was not a one-off; she has repeatedly sacrificed the safety of Wisconsin communities to accommodate her radical views. In April, Wisconsin voters will flock to the polls for a Wisconsin judge who upholds the law, Brad Schimel.
