Teen Room Updates

Happy New Year! I'll admit it's gotten off to a slightly bumpy start here, which is why the monthly newsletter is reaching y'all a bit late. But! We are now ready to spring into action with new programs, new books, and new ideas.

What better way to start the month than with a half day? We're looking forward to seeing a lot of you tomorrow, and thus I'm directing this note towards the parents of middle school students. Please help us by being aware of our policies and of your child's plans for the half day. Parents of fifth and sixth grade students are reminded that their child must be accompanied and supervised by a parent or parent's representative (15 years old or older) when visiting the library. Unaccompanied fifth and sixth graders arriving at the library will be asked to call their parents and will not be able to stay at the library. Parents of seventh and eighth grade students are reminded that their child may remain at the library unaccompanied for a maximum of two hours. If your child plans to visit the library on the half day please make sure they also have a plan for where they will go when they leave the library. You can view our complete Child Safety Policy here

This class is being presented by The Jazz Robot Studios, a local arts non-profit, and will be led by Jonathan Larkin. Jonathan studied fine art at the School of the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston and regular works with wax in his painting and metal working projects in his studio in Shrewsbury.
