Join us in June as Hutchinson celebrates becoming Smallville, Kansas - home of Clark Kent!

Smallville Festival kicks-off on the Third Thursday in June when Hutchinson, Kansas, officially changes its name to Smallville, Kansas; home of Clark Kent, better known as Superman.

Smallville Festival becomes a way for our community to celebrate what makes small-town living SUPER! This celebration focuses on small-town values like: traditions, hard work, grit, determination, and pride in where we live.

Downtown Hutchinson: 6 -9 p.m. — Join us for the ultimate Smallville experience at Third Thursday’s Smallville Festival Kick-Off! Take in the charm of Hutchinson as it transforms into the iconic Smallville, the legendary home of Clark Kent.

Let your imagination soar as you explore the heart of Downtown Smallville, where FREE and FUN family activities await around every corner.

Don’t forget to register for the Smallville Kids Costume Contest, with FREE registration for all budding superheroes and heroines.

Our community partners come together and host activities all day long to continue the Smallville Festival fun at the Reno County Museum, the Hutchinson Zoo, the Cosmosphere, and Hutch Con at the Kansas State Fairgrounds.

Let's see if we can break the record from our 10th anniversary photo by having the most Clark Kents in one photo! Dress up in honor of Clark and be prepared to strike a pose during this iconic festival photo!

Show off your super powers in this 5k that's 650' below ground in the Strataca underground salt mine museum! Don your hard hat and your cape and don't miss the chance to race past a real Superman suit!
