SOTS Fact Check: Georgia's Economy is Strong Because of President Biden and Democrats' Investments

Governor Kemp has a series of well-worn talking points bashing the historic economic investments Democrats have made in Georgia, from the American Rescue Plan to the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law to the Inflation Reduction Act – what he won’t say is that the IRA has spurred $31.24 billion in clean energy investment and brought 43,266 jobs to Georgia, making the Peach State the biggest beneficiary of the Biden Administration’s signature climate and clean energy initiative.

Kemp also won’t mention that, thanks to the IRA, most Georgia families will save over $1000 a year in health care costs, seniors’ prescription drug costs are capped at $2000 per year, insulin costs are capped at $35 per month, and Medicare will be able to negotiate bulk discount pricing for prescription drugs starting next year.

Governor Kemp has also made ample use of Democrats’ American Rescue Plan funding for everything from broadband improvements to supporting local businesses.
