Sparta Town and Country Days are full of family-friendly fun! Compete in the hay bale toss competition, watch the parade, and enjoy the carnival! It's a great way to celebrate our history while bringing our community together! Come check it out and participate in one of Sparta's favorite traditions!

Thursday, May 15, 2025

Family Farm Night - Rogers Park

Lion’s Chicken Dinner, 4:30-7pm or until gone

Enjoy the famous Lions Chicken Dinner! For only $14, get 1/2 Chicken, Baked Beans, Coleslaw, Roll, & Water. Tickets can be bought in advance at the Sparta Chamber of Commerce Office (194 E. Division)

Games & Activities by Local Businesses, 5-8pm

Bring your kiddo to enjoy free face painting, photo booth, ring toss, and more.

Farm Animals by Highlands on the Ridge  and Sparta 4H, 5-8pm

See adorable highland cows and other fun farm animals.

Alive Band with local artists: Jeff Amlotte, Colin Lewis, & more, 5-8pm

Hear a wide variety of live music from amazing local musicians.

Dog Show by the Barkery, 6pm

Show off your furry friend in this fun dog show! More details on how to sign up coming soon.

Haybale Toss by Momber Sales, 6:45pm Kids & 7:15pm Adults

Test your strength in this exciting competition! Sign-ups available onsite.

Sparta Bucks Raffle by Sparta Today, 5-8pm

4 Lucky winners will get $100 in Sparta Bucks! But everyone's a winner, because when you buy a $5 raffle ticket, you get a free I Love Summer in Sparta T-Shirt!

Breath & Birds at Long Lake Park by Blandford Nature Center - Long Lake Park, 10am

$5 per person, pre-registration required.

Parade led by Grand Marshall: Sue Blackall - State St to E. Division, 11am

Historical Commission Research Center Open - 71 N Union, Noon-5pm

Find out about Sparta's rich and interesting history.

Veterans Museum Open - 75 N Union, Noon-5pm

Learn about the Sparta veterans who fought in the Civil War, Spanish-American War, WWI, Korean War, Vietnam War, and the Desert War.

All About Bugs - Myers School House, 12:30-2pm

Bug Search, Games, Crafts, a museum-quality insect collection on loan from the Howard Christensen Nature Center, & Chickens Wiffle Ball Tournament by Little League & Sparta Softball and Baseball- Sparta Sports Park

$20/person or $100 for a team. 3 Age Divisions - 8-11 years old, 12-16 years old, and 17 years old and up. Sign ups will be posted soon

Nature Crafts at Long Lake Park by Blandford Nature Center - Long Lake Park, 2-3pm

$5 per person, pre-registration required.

Carnival - Balyeat Field, Noon-6pm

A crowd favorite! Enjoy exciting rides, fun games, and snacks from the concession stands.

Sparta Hunting and Fishing Club Community Shoot - Sparta Hunting and Fishing Club, 10am-4pm

A free event for youth and adults to ejoy (parents must remain onsite). Free trap shooting, pistol, rifle, 3D archery, & youth fishing. No experience is necessary. You are welcome to bring your own supplies (limited supplies available). Food will be for sale onsite (cash or checks only). Competitive events are available for experienced shooters.

This deal is only valid until midnight on the night before the event starts. 

Carnival Hours and Ride Pricing:

Friday: 3pm-10pm - $25 daily armband

Saturday: 12pm-11pm - $30 daily armband

Sunday: 12pm-6pm - $25 daily armband

Tickets are also available 4 for $5

Tickets are for rides only; cash or cc are accepted at the concessions.

Rides require 2-6 tickets per rider.

Daily armbands are valid on the day of purchase only, no transfers or swapping.

All sales FINAL.
