Clubs and Organizations

From: Woodland Opera House TheatreThe creation of the Woodland Opera House Theatre And Dance Annex, known lovingly as TADA, is a perfect example of individuals “Springing into Action” for the benefit of our organization…and the community! We now have 350 students enrolled in classes at TADA.
Up until the opening of TADA in 2016, our education program was run out of the theatre and the 4th Street studio. Executive Director, Angela Baltezore had developed the program from scratch while she was Education Program Director and it had gained a lot of momentum. The program was growing by leaps and bounds and we desperately needed extra space. There were many individuals who came together to make TADA a reality. The effort was brought together by the WOH Board of Trustees and the City of Woodland, with Angela helping to guide. Many others were involved, such as staff members, friends/volunteers of the Opera House, and even family members that created a hard-working team to accomplish the huge task that was at hand.
Negotiations with the City began, and it was determined that the old Woodland Police Department could become the perfect facility. A barrage of inspections, assessments, and evaluations followed, lots of fundraising, too, and then a clean out and work to retrofit the interior so that it would work best for holding classes.
On June 2, 2016 we posted this on social media:
“Unlocking our dreams! The Woodland Opera House received the keys today! Next step is to move in and plan our Open House. Thank you, Monley Hamlin Construction, for the outstanding work – it looks great! And we honor the large donors: Clark Pacific, Sunrise Rotary, and the Glide Foundation with special recognition with our named rooms. We couldn’t have done this project and have such amazing dance floors without them!” See the photo of Angela Baltezore receiving keys to the building from Colin Monley.
What an incredible testament to what we can do when we put our minds and hearts in motion for a cause! On Big Day of Giving, May 4th, we ask that you also “Spring into Action” and donate (use button below) to the Woodland Opera House so we can preserve our theatre and its programs while continuing to grow.
