BISMARCK, N.D. – Learn about the history and nostalgia of Class B basketball in North Dakota during “Class B Basketball at the State Museum,” March 16-19, at the North Dakota Heritage Center & State Museum in Bismarck.
Historical items related to Class B boys basketball, including newspaper articles, will be on display. Visitors can view two Prairie Public Television documentaries, “One Shining Moment” and “Basketball, Water, and the Lost City of Elbowoods,” running continuously each day. Monitors will stream video footage of past games and activities that occurred in Class B towns. Activities for both children and adults will be available daily.
Class B basketball participants and fans are also invited to share basketball memories with the State Archives as part of the “Flicker Tales of North Dakota” oral history project. Stories will be recorded by Archives staff during 20-minute sessions in March, virtually or by phone. Time slots are limited. To make an appointment to share your story, contact Sarah Walker at 701.328.2723 or [email protected].
