From: Stratford LibraryThe Stratford Library Board of Trustees’ 20th benefit, “Mardi Gras Magic," was a gala evening of musical excellence, fine dining, dancing, and more. Under the platinum sponsorship of the Mayor’s Golf Tournament, Berchem Moses PC and the Halper Keating Family Foundation, the stellar sold-out event saw nearly 200 in attendance at Stratford’s Blackhawk Country Club. Over $21,000 was raised, and all proceeds directly benefit the Library’s programs and collections.
Local singing sensation Cidalia Kettles wowed the crowd with her potent rendition of song classics and popular hits. Guests enjoyed a lavish buffet dinner, complimentary beer and wine, appetizers, and dessert with entertainment by strolling magician Jim Sisti, and DJ Bill Lopez for dancing.
A select silent auction offered premium items, while more than 40 prizes showcasing local restaurants, spa and wine packages were available in separate drawings. The Library also offered a 50-50 raffle that raised $1,275 and sold hand-crafted masks. The Library awarded Bob Sabo and Mia and Kacy Pettway as “Best Dressed” for the evening. Board President Robyn Proto and Stratford Mayor Laura Hoydick offered welcome remarks. State Representatives Joe Gresko and Kaitlyn Shake, and Stratford Town Council members Anthony Afriyie, Christopher Green, Allan Llewelyn and Rene Gibson were spotted in the crowd.
Co-chairpersons for the annual event were Doreen Jaekle and Joelle Kilcourse of Stratford.
