(New Hope, PA 2023): Mill Ballet School in New Hope, PA is offering a Summer Dance program with various camps for students ages 3-18 and adult ballet classes available for all levels. Programs begin June 26 and run through August 18 and are taught by Mill Ballet School faculty as well as guest instructors.
For the youngest students ages 3-5, there is the Afternoon Adventures class on Wednesdays and/or Thursdays from 4:30-5:30, June 26-August 20. Pre-schoolers will spend an adventurous afternoon working on the basic concepts of dance through creative movement. Each week as a different country and culture is explored, the children are given the understanding that dance is a universal language that all can understand!
Mill Ballet's Dance Camp is for students ages 5-6 and runs Monday through Friday from 9:30-3:00 the weeks of July 17-21 or August 14-18. In this camp, young creative students are given the opportunity to experience dance from learning basic technique to performing it with classes in various dance forms from ballet to hip hop. Throughout the week students will see how their knowledge of dance technique can be used to create choreography. As their knowledge of dance grows so does their ability to create. In addition, dance-related activities will cover topics such as music, dance history, and costumes. Students will have fun playing dance-related games and enjoying picnic lunches outside. The goal of the camp is to provide a life-long memorable experience while enhancing each student's overall dance education and appreciation of the art.

The Young Dancers Workshop has been developed specifically for young dancers ages 7-10 providing them with an introduction to more serious dance training. The program runs Monday-Friday 9:30-3:00 with a choice of weeks July 10-14, July 17-21, July 24-28, and August 14-18.
The goal of the workshop is to give each individual a deeper and more thorough understanding of their technique and the art of dance. While the main focus is on classical ballet, our young dancers will be exposed to other forms of dance including jazz, improv, contemporary, and flamenco. The day will conclude with discussions on proper nutrition for young dancers, injury prevention, anatomy, and dance history along with dance videos.
The session for August 14-18 for both Dance Camp and Young Dancers Workshop will be a magical week exploring how the story of Cinderella is interpreted around the world. Each day the Fairy Godmother will transport students to a different country where the classic story is retold using creative dance concepts. At the end of each session on Fridays at 2:30, parents and siblings are invited to an informal performance highlighting the students’ accomplishments.

PBT (progressing ballet technique) and dance conditioning will be the start of the students' day helping them find and feel the muscles needed for the proper execution of ballet and contemporary dance technique. Ballet technique, pre-pointe or pointe as well as contemporary ballet, modern, jazz, and classical variations will be part of each student's daily schedule. The goal of the intensive is to provide each student the tools and knowledge to go to their “next level” of training.
