From: Summit Downtown, Inc.Summit, NJ - Family Fun Night made a triumphant return as Beechwood Road and Bank Street transformed into a delightful carnival-themed kids' zone. The event, made possible by our wonderful sponsors Brownie Points Bakery, Lois Schneider Realtor and Oak Knoll School of the Holy Child, brought joy to families from Summit and beyond. Our sponsors provided scrumptious mini cupcakes from Brownie Points Bakery and amazed children with the incredible balloon art created by Shawn Yaney. Many downtown businesses and children’s entertainers added to the excitement with fantastic giveaways and attractions like face painting, caricatures, henna art, mini golf and The Lizard Guys, who captivated everyone with their giant tortoise.
Laughter and dancing filled the streets as Jumpin’ Jamie, Zumbini with Allie and Cool Science entertained at Beechwood & Springfield. Summit Downtown (SDI) is also incredibly grateful to their Summit partners in making the Bank Street lot so enjoyable. The lot was filled with tons of games and activities for the kids including The Connection with the Bubble Bus, The Summit YMCA’s exercise for books, face painter and an introduction to their Detective in Training class. New this year, the Summit Public Library joined us with interactive activities including their brand-new book bike and The Visual Art Center of NJ with a kids art zone! SDI rounded out the fun with the return of the Cloverland petting zoo.
The ever-popular Donna Puzella from Sweet Nothings enchanted the crowd as she spun cotton candy by the thousands, leaving smiles on the faces of young and old alike. Many happy faces enjoyed many different activities and free giveaways from downtown Summit businesses including Color Me Mine, The Summit Soiree, Wonder Dog Studios, Robot Revolution, PNC Bank, and the Junior League of Summit.
The Game Truck & Food Alley included Summit favorites Pizza Vita, Puras Paletas, The Meat House and Anita’s Baked Wonders offering great eats and Mobile X Gaming with his always fun video game truck. Just Delicious Kettle Corn was also making fresh kettle corn! The night coincided with Summit Street Sounds and added to the fun and festive atmosphere downtown. Be sure to mark your calendars for next year’s event on Thursday, June 6, 2024.
