6:00 p.m: Frame Drum Workshop at Sheridan Opera House
Rhythms for the Healing Arts – a Frame Drum Workshop with Yousif Sheronick
Join world-renowned percussionist Yousif Sheronick for a one-hour hands-on workshop exploring the ancient and transformative art of the frame drum. Based on his online course "Rhythms for the Healing Arts," this session introduces participants to basic strokes and then guides them through rhythm sequences inspired by Egyptian gods, bodies of water, earth, and plant life. This workshop is open to all levels beginners are welcome. Drums are provided, but you’re encouraged to bring your own if you have one. Tickets: $40 (Must be booked in advance)

The festival opens with a German-themed concert titled "An die Musik" a tribute to the profound emotional and spiritual power of music. Named after the beloved 1817 poem by Austrian poet Franz von Schober, famously set to music by Franz Schubert, the program reflects on how music uplifts the soul and offers comfort and beauty. This opening concert on Sunday June 29th, will celebrate the rich musical legacy of German and Austrian composers, featuring works by Bach, Beethoven, Brahms, Mendelssohn, and Schumann. Audiences can also look forward to a few surprise pieces, adding a special touch to this evocative musical tribute.

Educational fun for the whole family. Join MusicFest’s internationally acclaimed string quartet for a musical journey around the world. Designed to inspire young listeners, this free concert introduces global music through the expressive voice of string instruments.

Celebrate local talent in this heartwarming evening hosted at the home of Anne and Vincent Mai. Local’s Night invites amateur musicians and students to perform in an informal and supportive setting. Whether it’s a favorite recital piece or a chance to share your passion, all instruments and styles are welcome piano, guitar, flute, vocals, and more.

"South of the Border" Celebrate music from Central and South America

Celebrating the vibrant rhythms and rich musical heritage of Latin America, "South of the Border" turns up the heat with a colorful journey through the music of Mexico, Puerto Rico, Panama, Uruguay, Paraguay, Cuba, Argentina, and Brazil. Audiences will experience the pulse of Latin dance music—from the sultry elegance of the tango to the smooth sway of bossa nova. The program also features energetic Latin jazz and a romantic gem: a rarely performed Romantic-era piano quintet by Brazilian composer Henrique Oswald, offering a tender, expressive contrast to the fiery beats. This night promises a spirited blend of rhythm, romance, and cultural celebration.

The grand finale of MusicFest 2025 brings us back to Europe with a sun-drenched celebration of Italian music in "Amami d’estate—Love Me in the Summer." This final concert honors the timeless passion and artistry of Italy’s greatest composers, spanning from the elegance of the Baroque to the innovations of the modern era. Audiences will be treated to masterpieces by Boccherini, Vivaldi, Verdi, Respighi, dall’Abaco, and Sollima, showcasing Italy’s deep and diverse musical heritage. As a charming twist, the evening also includes a surprise nod to Italian-American legend Frank Sinatra, blending classical tradition with a touch of timeless cool.
