From: Burnham LibraryThe Burnham Library announces a show by artist Katushka Millones, entitled, “Conversations With Nature”. Contemporary artist Millones will be showcasing her latest works at the Burnham Library, 62 Main Street South, Bridgewater, CT.
A selection of her works will be on display from July 5th through August 26th.
The show, is entitled “Conversations with Nature” and this is what Millones has to say: “For me, nature is an inexhaustible source of inspiration. I’m fascinated by skies, vast lands, and the presence of water. Having been an observer from many years of traveling, I have accumulated an enormous bank of images that are accompanied by sweet memories - not only of happiness but solitude as well. With each piece I am hoping to create a poetic and magical moment that reveals itself in massive quietness, the absence of obstacles, and the presence of boundless land.My goal is to have the viewer bear witness to, and be absorbed by, the scene - a scene trapped in time, of sounds of breeze, of light and shade, of movement and repose. The works I am showing are inspired by hikes, photographs and painting en plein air. These paintings are the result of direct observation and the recollection of the emotions that I felt observing those scenes.”
An architect graduate from her birth country of Peru, she has always found satisfaction in the arts. Moved by Turner’s dramatic skies, Kandinsky’s colorful palette and Cornell’s assemblages, her present work explores the relationship between land and the sea, where a welcoming moment of solitude awaits the viewer.
