The Facts Have Not Changed in the NC Supreme Court Race

RALEIGH - The facts have not changed in the NC Supreme Court race.

Jefferson Griffin filed protests of over 60,000 votes that were improperly cast for a number of reasons in the 2024 General Election. The protests highlight specific irregularities and discrepancies in the handling and counting of ballots, raising concerns about adherence to established election laws.

These failures are the fault of the N.C. State Board of Elections; not the voters.

FACT: Prior to December 2023, the Voter Registration form was in violation of federal and state law by not requiring individuals to provide their Social Security or Driver’s License number when filling out the Voter Registration form. The NC State Board of Elections admitted that this pre-December 2023 form was out of compliance with the law. Nearly 225,000 individuals failed to provide this federally required information. The NCSBE acknowledged these issues but refused to address them in violation of state law.

FACT: The NCSBE has allowed voters who have never lived in North Carolina to vote in North Carolina elections.

FACT: State law requires a Photo ID to vote. Various county boards have not required overseas absentee voters to provide a Photo ID in order to vote in State races. This is a violation of State law due to the lack of Photo ID being presented and a failure of the NCSBE to provide uniform guidance to these counties.

At every point in these protests, the Democrat NCSBE majority (one of which is conflicted and should have been recused) has sought to throw procedural hurdles at Judge Griffin and the NCGOP, including citing "QR Codes" as not being sufficient, despite the Board itself using them in mailings statewide.

Now, with the NC Supreme Court set to finally bring the protests to a conclusion, it is imperative that blatant violations of state law are decided by our state's highest court.

"The people of North Carolina are ready to finally see this process brought to a conclusion and the laws our state faithfully followed. Judge Griffin is fighting to ensure election integrity and resolution of these issues in a fair manner," said NCGOP Chairman Jason Simmons.
