The Sound of Music' traces the 'Family Von Trapp' as Maria, a former nun and a new Nanny, begins her duties with the Von Trapp family and grows to love her new 'family'. The delightful children have been dealing with a militaristic lifestyle instituted by their father, Captain Von Trap, but they soon warm to Maria and begin to love and accept her. The musical is set during difficult times in Austria, as the rise of the Nazis party is beginning to threaten Austria and all of Europe. The 'Captain' struggles with his duty to his beloved country and his duty to his family. Beautiful music abounds in this production--ranging from the playful 'Do Re Mi' to the touching and haunting 'Edelweis'....and the inspirational 'Climb Every Mountain'.
