Thomas Jackson is always searching for stunning landscape locations that meet his strict requirements: ample wind, expansive views, public access but emptied of people, and a sun that sets to his back. Happily he recently found the right combination of these elements in Truro and Provincetown, Massaachusetts. Ballston Beach is the location for Silk #7v1, Silk #7v2 and Tulle #60. The layered geometry of Jackson's Silk #7v1 and v2 installations create a floating abstraction that is both painterly and sculptural. While Assorted Fabric #1 placed over the dunes in Provincetown mimics a frenzied ballet that crowns the spectacle of nature.
