From: Ellen Miller GalleryThomas Jackson is always searching for stunning landscape locations that meet his strict requirements: ample wind, expansive views, public access but emptied of people, and a sun that sets to his back. Happily he recently found the right combination of these elements in Truro and Provincetown, Massaachusetts. Ballston Beach is the location for Silk #7v1, Silk #7v2 and Tulle #60. The layered geometry of Jackson's Silk #7v1 and v2 installations create a floating abstraction that is both painterly and sculptural. While Assorted Fabric #1 placed over the dunes in Provincetown mimics a frenzied ballet that crowns the spectacle of nature.
Thomas Jackson photography transforms these spaces in nature. His installation practice presents the interaction between place and artistic material, enhancing their beauty through a shared moment in time.
