Like all Americans, I am sickened and horrified by the attack on Israel on October 7th, 2023. I am proud that Tennessee's entire Congressional delegation is standing firm behind the people of Israel. This resolve will be tested and hardened in the coming days as the stories of the murdered, wounded, kidnapped, and displaced begin to emerge from the tragic attack. Much as 9/11 did, the attack has effected the entire world and we must cover the survivors with needed prayers. Just over a year ago, I personally had the opportunity to visit Israel and met with the farmers and ranchers of southern Israel that lived daily in the shadow of terror. I pray for health and healing and encourage everyone to stand with Israel as they seek to restore their nation, their border, and recover the lost.
