VIRTUAL: Old Glory, New Glory -- The History of the American Flag: Thu 7/6, 7pm: Explore the fascinating history of the American flag, from its earliest days as a symbol of revolution, to the present. What is the truth about Betsy Ross? How did the flag get the name “Old Glory?" These questions and many more are answered presentation. This program is brought to you by the Tewksbury Public Library. Find more information and sign up here.
VIRTUAL: Norman Rockwell on Art: Fri 7/7, 10-30-11:30am: “America’s favorite illustrator” is best known for his relatable scenes of modern American life with subjects selected for their broad appeal: families, holiday celebrations and young love. Rockwell was also fond of making paintings about painting and the art world in general, topics one wouldn’t necessarily associate with commercial art for the middle class. This program considers the various ways Rockwell explored art making and museums over the course of his career, with a healthy dose of the artist’s good humor. This program is brought to you by the Ipswich Public Library. Find more information and sign up here.
