VIRGINIA - The Democratic Party of Virginia (DPVA) on July 1, 2025 announced the launch of “Operation Virginia Victory,” a coordinated campaign that will help elect Democratic candidates across the Commonwealth in November 2025.
Operation Virginia Victory will mobilize voters by building an expansive program to speak directly to Virginians about the stakes of this year’s elections. The coordinated campaign will help drive up voter turnout in support of Democratic candidates who are focused on lowering costs, strengthening Virginia’s public schools, defending the rights of all Virginians, and protecting Virginia jobs and Virginia’s economy in the face of chaos coming from Washington, D.C. and the Trump Administration.
Operation Virginia Victory’s goals are clear. From now until November, the coordinated campaign will work to elect Congresswoman Abigail Spanberger for Governor, Senator Ghazala Hashmi for Lieutenant Governor, Delegate Jay Jones for Attorney General, House of Delegates candidates in 100 seats across the Commonwealth, and Democratic candidates down the ballot.
“This November, we have an opportunity to elect leadership that puts Virginia first. Operation Virginia Victory will provide the tools, resources, and coordination required to succeed in this mission. All eyes are on Virginia, and with early voting starting on September 19, we are wasting no time in taking our message directly to voters,” said Congresswoman Abigail Spanberger. “Last week, I traveled across the Commonwealth by bus with our united Democratic ticket, hearing directly from Virginians about the challenges facing their families, their schools, their businesses, and their communities. These meaningful conversations will continue, both through the efforts of our Democratic ticket and through the hard work of our organizers and volunteers in every corner of Virginia."
“Virginia has never faced a more consequential election than the one we have in four short months. That’s why we are hitting the ground running with Operation Virginia Victory, a coordinated campaign that will engage and mobilize voters in every single community across the Commonwealth,” said Democratic Party of Virginia Chairman Lamont Bagby. “The record-breaking early voting turnout and unmatched enthusiasm we saw just two weeks ago in our Democratic primary proved what we already knew: Virginians are fired up and ready to elect leaders who will fight for their families, their rights, and their future. With a united statewide ticket and Democratic candidates running in all 100 districts for the first time in recent history, we will send Abigail Spanberger to the Governor’s Mansion, elect Ghazala Hashmi and Jay Jones, and expand our majority in the House of Delegates.”
“Operation Virginia Victory is about unleashing Virginia’s potential by competing in every corner of this Commonwealth,” said Virginia House of Delegates Speaker Don Scott. “We’ve got a historic map, an army of grassroots organizers, and a message that’s resonating with voters in all parts of Virginia. As Speaker, I’m proud of the progress we’ve made - but I’m even more fired up about what’s ahead. We’re not just playing defense - we’re on offense, and we’re putting in the work and building the organization to win at the top of the ticket and expand our majority in the House this November.”
“Virginia Democrats are entering the summer with a unified front at the top of the ticket, thousands of motivated volunteers across the Commonwealth, and a clear message that is resonating with Virginians. Operation Virginia Victory will harness this momentum to lay the groundwork for decisive wins up and down the ballot this fall,” said Mariah Gould, Director, Operation Virginia Victory. “We are building a coordinated mobilization program that will get out the vote in massive numbers, protect the rights of Virginia voters, and make clear the stakes of the November 2025 election for Virginia families and the future of our Commonwealth. Through the relentless efforts of our army of volunteers and on-the-ground staff, Operation Virginia Victory will deliver on its mission: elect Abigail Spanberger, Ghazala Hashmi, Jay Jones statewide; expand our majority in the Virginia House of Delegates; and deliver Democratic victories in local races across Virginia.”
