Artist and Wildlife Painter
Exhibition & Sale thru May 31
We lost David last year, but he lives on through his spectacular watercolors. A Sterling resident for decades, he drew his inspiration from the wildlife and birds of southern New England. Known for their crisp detail, his paintings are highly sought after. Fine art prints and cards are also available.

Migration Madness 2023
Our sixth annual celebration of Connecticut's birds features walks, lectures, and other activities. The Birdathon, our signature event, is set for the weekend of May 20-21.

Tuesday Morning Bird Walks
April and May at 8 a.m.
(No Walk on May 2)
With access to over 1,650 acres of land, we have plenty of options as we seek a variety of bird species. Wear drab color clothes. Bring binoculars or a spotting scope, if you wish. No registration required. Fee: $5 CAS members; $20 non-members.

Gellert Preserve Bird Walk
Friday, May 12 at 8 a.m.
This Wyndham Land Trust preserve offers a variety of habitats including fields, shrublands, and woodlands. Expect to find Prairie Warbler, Indigo Bunting, Blue-winged Warbler, Scarlet Tanager, and many more. Register via email [email protected] Fee: $10 CAS members; $20 non-members.

Mother's Day Bird Walk
Sunday, May 14 at 8 a.m.
Bring your mother or grandmother to see the colorful birds of spring. Many species can be found during peak migration. Register via email [email protected] Fee: $10 CAS members; $20 non-members. Mom's Free!

Toddlers, Trails and Tales
Every Wednesday at 10 a.m.
Parents, grandparents, guardians, come out to the Center with your toddler for story time, crafts, activities and some fresh air. Led by retired PCS kindergarten teacher, Carolyn Otto, the morning will be full of fun adventures. Dress for the weather. Registration is recommended by calling 860-928-4948. Free

Trail Wood Bird Walk with Andy

The Edwin Way Teale Memorial Sanctuary is home to an assortment of birds. We will walk its paths looking for Scarlet Tanager, Indigo Bunting, Blue-winged Warbler, Chestnut-sided Warbler, and Veery. Register via email [email protected] Fee: $10 CAS members; $20 non-members.

Mother's Day Walk
Sunday, May 14 at 2 p.m.
Our Trail Wood caretakers Laura and Paul will lead this walk on the sanctuary trails. Wildflowers will be in bloom! Heavy precipitation or high winds will cancel. Register via email [email protected]g or call 860-928-4948. CAS members Free; $5 for non-members.
