Be a part of the John Green Countdown! Hazel, a 16-year-old thyroid cancer patient, falls in love with Gus, a fellow teen attendee of her weekly cancer support group. Hazel and Gus bond over shared hobbies, sharp wit, and a love of books, and when Gus secures a trip to Amsterdam to meet Hazel’s favorite author, the two embark on the journey of a lifetime.

Laurie Anderson’s deeply personal film reflects on life, loss, and her late piano-playing rat terrier, Lolabelle. Through a poetic collage of memories, music, and philosophical musings, Anderson explores love, mortality, and the absurdities of modern life.
Before the screening, Dr. Altizer (Applied Music Instructor and Collaborative Pianist at Colby College) will delve into the film’s themes—from animals in media to Anderson’s unique concerts for dogs, and uncover the fascinating story behind Lolabelle’s musical talent.
