Westchester County’s Entering & Re-entering the Workforce Job Fair Draws 250 Talented Job Seekers to County Center

Following a successful debut in 2024, Westchester County hosted its second Entering and Re-entering the Workforce Job Fair at the Westchester County Center on October 16, drawing 250 enthusiastic job seekers that were new to employment, looking for a new job opportunity, retired and seeking to start a new chapter, and more.

 

Westchester County Executive Ken Jenkins said: “Westchester County remains committed to creating opportunities for all residents to connect with meaningful employment opportunities, including supporting those who have experienced disruption to their employment or are just starting out. We are grateful for the job seekers, employers and resource providers who participated in the important event.”

 

Westchester County Office of Economic Development Director Bridget Gibbons said, “The Entering and Re-Entering the Workforce Job Fair underscores Westchester County’s commitment to creating pathways for all residents to thrive. Connecting job seekers with employers and resource providers not only helps individuals take the next step in their careers, but also strengthens our local economy and workforce.”

 

Westchester County Director of Policy and Programs, Small Business and Chambers of Commerce, Shari Rosen Ascher said, “The Entering and Re-entering the Workforce Job Fair provided local employers a chance to connect with motivated job seekers who were enthusiastic about learning a new skill, reinventing themselves, and bringing their valuable life experience to a workplace. We had a great turnout for our second event, and we look forward to hosting more in the future.”

 

New and returning employers and resource providers were among the 45 exhibitors who participated in the event. Participating exhibitors included: The Legal Aid Society of Westchester, New York City Department of Correction, New York State Police, Northwell Health, PCSB Bank, Westchester County Department of Senior Programs and Services, Westchester Library System, White Plains City School District, White Plains Hospital, Y.A.I., YMCA of Central Northern Westchester, and more.
