DEADWOOD, S.D. - Mark your calendars for June 13-15, 2025, because Wild Bill Days is back and better than ever! This iconic celebration of Deadwood’s colorful past, thrilling Wild West culture, and contemporary entertainment is set to bring history, music, and excitement to the heart of the Black Hills.
Great new additions have been made for Wild Bill Days 2025, but that doesn't mean your favorite events have changed! Enjoy two days of live music, with headlining performances by BlackHawk and Chancey Williams.
BlackHawk will rock the stage on Friday, June 13. For more than 20 years, BlackHawk has shared a unique sense of harmony with their voices, their songs, and their fans. It’s a harmony that has sold over 7 million albums, scored some of the most distinctive country radio hits of the ‘90s, and still draws tens of thousands of fans to their electrifying live performances. Today BlackHawk continues to honor its past as it forges its future and does it all with a commitment that takes their music – and the harmony – to a whole new level.
On Saturday, don't miss local country artist Chancey Williams! Saddle Bronc athlete-turned neo-traditional country music sensation Chancey Williams, has gone from competing on horseback to performing on center stage. As one of only two artists (along with Chris LeDoux) to both compete in the rodeo and perform on the main stage at Cheyenne Frontier Days and the only singer/songwriter to be endorsed by CINCH®, Williams is the next authentic cowboy of country music. The northeastern Wyoming native has toured the nation, taking the stage ahead of headliners Toby Keith, Cody Johnson, Alan Jackson, Dierks Bentley and Parker McCollum, performing at a sold-out Ryman Auditorium, Red Rocks Amphitheatre, as well as headlining at The National Finals Rodeo and multiple performances at the Grand Ole’ Opry.
“For us, it’s been a long journey of playing against what was popular in country music, but we just stayed the course,” Williams told People Magazine of staying true to his roots. “I always tell the band, don’t worry about whatever any other artist is doing. We have blinders on.”
Also returning this year is the fan-favorite DockDogs competition. Watch incredible canine athletes compete in exciting aquatic events at the newly expanded DockDogs venue at the History & Information Center parking lot at 3 Siever Street all weekend long! Relive history with the famous reenactment of the Trial of Jack McCall on Saturday, a riveting moment from Deadwood’s storied past. There will also be gold panning demonstrations all weekend long! Try your hand at striking it rich in the same way pioneers once did in Deadwood’s gold rush days.
Come to the 8th Annual Wild Deadwood Reads book fair at The Lodge at Deadwood on June 14th from 10 am to 3 pm! In attendance will be more than 80 authors from all over the country, including bestselling and award-winning authors of every genre—romance, historical, Christian, children’s, mystery, thrillers, Western, non-fiction, and more. You will be able to find something for everyone in the family to enjoy. Also on Saturday, beginning at 10 am, don't miss the 10th annual Wild Bill Days Collector Car & Memorabilia Auction held inside Deadwood Mountain Grand’s event center. McPherson Auction is planning to sell nearly 75 high-quality and unique classic cars and memorabilia! Treasures, Trash for Cash, the annual citywide yard sale, will be held Saturday from 7 am – 2 pm for the residents of Deadwood, Central City, and Lead. This one-day event is a simultaneous yard sale that gives residents, organizations, and businesses the opportunity to increase their potential customers by having a coordinated date and advertising campaign. Maps with addresses and site locations will be printed and available by the Black Hills Pioneer the week of June 14th.
There are some great new additions to Wild Bill Days this year! The headline acts will take the Sue Lundberg Memorial Stage at Outlaw Square each night, and you can catch some great regional music acts on the Main Street Stage located between Mustang Sally's and the Bullock Hotel. Stroll down Main Street for a new art festival featuring unique vendors and your favorite Deadwood businesses. There will be food and beverage options provided by local businesses, as well as "bump outs" from Main Street businesses. Learn more about Deadwood’s history of transportation at the Days of ’76 Museum’s wagon display on Main Street featuring a stagecoach and a chuckwagon. Feel free to take a photo and check out the historic demonstrations from Deadwood History Inc. In addition to the gold panning, there will also be Old West demonstrations on arrow making, beadwork, and more!
Bring the whole family to enjoy Wild Bill Days! The Wild West Kids Fun Park will be located in the History and Information Center parking lot, and features Wild West-themed games, activities, and a kid's train! While exploring the vendors on Main Street, stop by the electronic quick draw and mini horse petting zoo in the Celebrity Hotel parking lot.
On Sunday, celebrate Father’s Day in Historic Deadwood! Take part in the Father’s Day Hike hosted by Friends of Deadwood Trails, and enjoy free admission for dads to the Adams Museum, Adams House, and the Days of ’76 Museum.
