From: Williams College Museum of ArtCome bid farewell to WCMA’s Upper Galleries
Have you heard the news?
After nearly a century in Lawrence Hall, multiple renovations and building additions, and hundreds of inspiring exhibitions, our upper galleries are closing starting Dec. 23 as we prepare for our new purpose-built home.
To mark this milestone moment, we are hosting a series of “Last Chance Glance” programs: Wednesday, Dec. 11, 3-5 p.m.; Thursday, Dec. 12, noon-2 p.m.; Wednesday, Dec. 18, 2- 4 p.m.; and Thursday, Dec. 19, 11 a.m.-1 p.m.
Everyone is invited to come take a final look at the exhibitions currently on display, including Teddy Sandoval and the Butch Gardens School of Art; Pallavi Sen: Colour Theory; SO–IL \ WCMA: Building A New Museum; Cracking the Cosmic Code: Numerology in Medieval Art; and Remixing the Hall. Visitors also can enjoy light refreshments, talk to staff members, and view slideshows of the WCMA galleries through the years. As a special thank you, everyone will receive 35 percent off everything in the WCMA shop during these programs, too!
Do you have memories of the museum you would like to share? Fill out this form, where you can submit written recollections or an audio file. We will be compiling these as we look toward our 100th anniversary in 2026 and the opening of our new museum that will lead us into our next 100 years!
