Schedule:

The Women’s Storytelling Festival, produced annually in March by Better Said Than Done, is a festival celebrating all women and gender nonconforming spoken-word performing artists. The festival debuted in March 2020 in Fairfax City, VA. The Women’s Storytelling Festival is performed live, in-person, as well as live-streamed and available to online viewers for one month after the live-stream.

The Women’s Storytelling Festival is intended for a mature audience.

8:00pm – 9:15pm - Virtual Showcase

The Women’s Storytelling Festival kicks off with a virtual showcase featuring storytellers Karin Amano, Sarah Brady, Sarah Beth Nelson, Shani Womack, and Janel Woodland.

Friday, March 21,2025

7:00pm – 9:00pm - In-person Festival Kicks Off

The in-person performances of the WSF start Friday night at 7:00pm with a showcase featuring Laura Packer, Tobey Ishii Anderson, Linda Gorham, Andrea Kamens, Ingrid Nixon, Jessica Robinson, and Laura Deal.

11am – 12:15pm - Morning Showcase

Saturday morning stories with Carol Moore and Ingrid Nixon.

2pm – 3:45pm - Afternoon Showcase

After lunch storytellers include Laura Deal, Aimee Snow, Laura Packer, Andrea Kamens, Sarah Snyder, and Miriam Nadel.

4pm – 5:30pm - Evening Showcase

After a short break, storytelling returns with storytellers Linda Gorham, Tobey Ishii Anderson, and Ingrid Nixon.

7:30pm – 9:15pm - Nighttime Showcase

Saturday night’s storytellers are Carol Moore, Andrea Kamens, Swapna Deshpande, Jennifer Hillery, Amanda Lawrence, Laura Packer, and Jessica Robinson.

10am – 12pm - Morning Story Swap

Sunday morning is our open mic story swap. Bring a 5 – 6 minute story, put your name in the hat, and share the love. The story swap is live-streamed and recorded. If you’d like to share a story but not be on camera, please let us know when you sign up.

1:30pm – 3:15pm - Afternoon Showcase

Festival storytellers Laura Packer, Ingrid Nixon, and Linda Gorham share stories Sunday afternoon.

3:30pm – 5pm - Finale Showcase

The Women’s Storytelling Festival finale showcase includes storytellers Linda Gorham, Andrea Kamens, Tobey Ishii Anderson, Jessica Robinson, Carol Moore, and Ingrid Nixon.
