Government and Politics
May 12, 2023
From: Yolo County GovernmentWoodland, CA - The Office of Emergency Services is seeking public input on potential hazards impacting Yolo County and possible strategies to reduce those impacts.
The Yolo County Hazard Mitigation Plan assesses the risk of floods, drought, wildfires, severe weather and other natural hazards of concern to the county. To view the 2018 plan, visit: https://tinyurl.com/OESPlans.
Every five years, the plan is updated and submitted to the Federal Emergency Management Agency. In partnership with the cities and special districts in Yolo County, the 2023 update will address an updated list of hazards, assess the likely impacts of those hazards, revise goals and prioritize projects to reduce the effects of future disasters in our communities.
As part of the process of updating the Yolo County Hazard Mitigation Plan, residents are encouraged to provide their input by attending one of the scheduled public meetings where information about the plan, including the hazards identified, will be discussed. Hard copies of the plan will be available at the scheduled public meetings, and also accessible at https://tinyurl.com/OESPlans after the meetings.
