Following reports of a new memo from Donald Trump directing federal agencies to prepare for sweeping layoffs of federal workers, here’s a reminder that Glenn Youngkin, Winsome Earle-Sears, and Jason Miyares are refusing to stand up for Virginia’s workers. With over 140,000 federal employees in Virginia, the state's economy and workforce will be hit hard by Trump’s attacks.

This week, Youngkin doubled down on his support of Trump’s layoffs, saying that he should “press forward” while admitting that “Virginians will lose their jobs.” He also directed laid-off workers to simply search for jobs on LinkedIn and Indeed and update their resumes. Sears has also reiterated that she will not stand up for Virginia’s workforce and economy, telling the Fredericksburg Free Press that workers who lose their jobs will be “all right.” She also posted dead links when offering resources to laid-off workers.

“Glenn Youngkin, Winsome Earle-Sears, and Jason Miyares are not just standing by—they are actively supporting Donald Trump’s dangerous plan that will obliterate Virginia’s economy and workforce,” DPVA Chairwoman Susan Swecker said. “This reckless agenda could rip apart the livelihoods of over 140,000 Virginians and their families. Virginians deserve leaders who will fight for their jobs, their futures, and their dignity—not leaders who sit back in silence and let this catastrophe unfold."
