Liberty Mutual and Safeco Insurance have awarded Yuma Insurance a 2025 Make More Happen Award for its ongoing support of the Humane Society of Yuma (HSOY), a nonprofit dedicated to reducing the number of homeless pets through adoption, rescue, and spay/neuter programs—with the ultimate goal of zero euthanasia for adoptable dogs and cats. This award includes a $5,000 donation to the Humane Society of Yuma, which can be doubled to $10,000 through online support from the community.

The Yuma Insurance and the Humane Society of Yuma story is featured on the official Make More Happen microsite at https://www.agentgiving.com/yuma-insurance/, where supporters can vote to help the team reach their donation goal. If the story receives at least 500 combined votes and comments, the $5,000 donation will be increased to $10,000. These funds could support more than 80 pet adoptions or fund 50 spay/neuter surgeries—giving animals a chance at a healthier, happier life.

“Yuma Insurance is dedicated to protecting and educating our community members, which is why our values align with the Humane Society of Yuma,” said Jack Puckett, agency owner at Yuma Insurance. “They offer care and comfort to animals and also provide education about animal cruelty at local elementary schools. Pets are family, so it’s critical that we support the Humane Society’s lifesaving work and give every animal a chance at a loving home.”

Yuma Insurance’s support goes far beyond financial contributions. In addition to sponsoring key fundraisers such as the Fur Ball, Critter Country, Fore Paws Golf Tournament, and Poker for Paws, the agency team donates supplies and volunteers regularly. Lori Arney, an agent at the firm, serves on HSOY’s Board of Directors and is currently fostering five baby kittens who were rescued at just three weeks old. In a quiet but impactful gesture, Jack and Lori recently made a surprise large donation to HSOY to strengthen its spay and neuter program.

“Recognizing independent agents’ dedication to their communities and nonprofit partners is what the Make More Happen Awards are all about,” said Hassib Kabir, Senior Territory Manager, Liberty Mutual and Safeco Insurance. “Yuma Insurance is an incredible example of how local businesses can make a real impact. We hope sharing their story inspires more people to get involved.”

Throughout 2025, Liberty Mutual and Safeco Insurance will select up to 36 independent agencies nationwide for a Make More Happen Award, donating up to $360,000 to nonprofits they support. Agencies become eligible for the award by submitting applications showcasing their commitment to a specific cause.

“We’re incredibly proud of our team’s commitment to animals in need,” said Puckett. “The Humane Society of Yuma makes our community stronger—and more compassionate. We’re honored to stand with them.”
