A.L. Wilson Elementary is part of the Albert Gallatin Area School District in southwestern Pennsylvania in Fayette County. We are located 5 miles south of Uniontown, PA in the borough of Fairchance, PA. The southern end of the Albert Gallatin School District borders West Virginia. Pittsburgh is located approximately 50 miles north of A.L. Wilson and Morgantown, West Virginia is located approximately 15 miles to the south.

Our district is a large, rural area consisting of 144 square miles. The student population at Albert Gallatin School District is 4,180 with 190 students attending A.L. Wilson. Our elementary school houses kindergarten through fifth grade students, provides modern, safe facilities and an excellent learning environment. Our School has a Library/Media Center with 20 personal computers and a computerized Cataloging system. A separate computer lab is adjacent to the Library, with 30 computers. Each classroom has at least two computers with Internet access available for use by students or the teachers. Closed circuit television systems are also available for instructional use. Our students moved into a new school building in August 2008. Our students students receive instruction from five itinerant instructors in the subjects of Art, Computer Literacy, Library Sciences, Physical Education and Music. Our school has recently adopted the "Take Ten" wellness program that incorporates physical activity into instruction.
