Mission:

Alcott Elementary School, families, staff, and students will work together to build and maintain a successful learning community where students are academically and socially responsible and demonstrate positive personal character.We collaborate to ensure that every child learns grade-level standards to his/her maximum ability. Success is demonstrated by reaching proficiency or above on multiple measures of student achievement.

Vision:

Our vision for an exemplary school is centered on improved student achievement. Working collaboratively as a professional learning community and using shared leadership, we engage students in learning the state standards through research-based instructional practices.

Our focus on learning causes us to maximize learning time. We monitor student progress by analyzing assessment data on a regular basis to inform instruction and modify teaching strategies. When students do not learn, interventions are initiated.Recognizing the influence on student success of teacher attitudes, beliefs, and behaviors, we communicate high expectations, warmth, and encouragement for each student.We build a safe, orderly and friendly school environment where each person, student, staff, and family members, is respected as we form trusting relationships.
