Organization of Veterans supporting other veterns, families and the community. El Cajon Post 303 meets the 1st Wednesday each month at the Bostonia Recreation Center. The meeting starts at 1900 and is preceded by a light meal which begins at about 1815.
We have members representing all war eras from World War II to the Current Wars. Some of our activities include having an enry in the Mother Goose Parade, the Gillispie Field Air Show, the Santee Street Fair. Our Children and Youth Programs include; participation in the Peace Builder Assemblies at Anza, W.D. Hall and Johnson Elementary Schools where we donate a bicycle, helmet and a lock to a deserving student. We participate in the JA Program at W.D. Hall by conducting interviews of 5th graders getting ready to go to Biz Town. We send six High School Juniors to Boys' State where they learn about our form of government by forming City, County and State governments.
This year we conducted a raffle of a 1851 Navy Pistol that was donated to the post by the El Cajon Gun Exchange. At our meeting in August we presented a check to the Armed Forces YMCA Wounded Warrior program for $1200.00.
Thirty-five to forty members and family meet at 0800 for breakfast every Saturday morning. The breakfast are held at eight different restrauants in El Cajon, Santee, and Lakeside.
