The Cozad American Lutheran Church congregation was
organized on July 14, 1946, with nineteen adult members signing the original
charter. Dedication of the Church building at 200 east 12th street was
held on June 12, 1949, with a new parsonage dedicated on July 7, 1957
at the same location.A new church building was dedicated on June 13, 1965,
with the original church building being incorporated to serve as Sunday
School rooms and Pre-school. The congregation at this time numbered 432
confirmed members.The facilities are currently used for Pre-school and
hosting monthly WJC meetings. Members are active in the Cozad Food Pantry
and local Crop Walk as well as hosting annual Thanksgiving and World Day
of Prayer Services with other congregations in the community. The congregation
is a member of the Cozad Association of Churches and the Dawson County
Area Ministerial Association. The church facility is handicap accessible.
