The Arlington Heights Junior Woman's Club was formed in 1933 by a young woman who wished to carry out community philanthropic projects. The main objective, which still holds true today, is to "Live each day, trying to accomplish something, not merely to exist.” We are non-political and non-sectarian.
Our service projects over the years have changed to meet the current needs and lifestyles of the community. Some of our past projects have included painting a cartoon mural in the Pediatric Ward at Northwest Community Hospital and creating a needlepoint alphabet quilt that hangs in the children's department at the Arlington Heights Memorial Library. Our club was also the driving force in coordinating the Arlington Heights Farmer's Market and starting the popular SafetyTown project.
