History of Augusta Schools

The Augusta Area School District, located in Eau Claire County in West Central Wisconsin, is a Pre-K-12 public school system. Our purpose is to provide our students with the knowledge, skills and attitudes which will help them become successful in an ever-changing society. As rural today as when it was consolidated in 1960, the District comprises 250 square miles, including the City of Augusta and all or part of seven surrounding townships. Augusta’s total population is approximately 1,500 residents with a school population of approximately 625 students. The District is comprised of a middle school/high school building which consists of students in grades 6-12, an elementary building consisting of students in grades PK-5, and a project-based charter school consisting of students in grades 7-12.

There are 59 certified staff members and 35 support staff. We have one superintendent, an elementary principal, and a middle/high school principal. Augusta is predominantly Caucasian with a 0.6% Native American, 0.4% Black American, and 3.6% Hispanic population. Augusta Elementary is a SAGE school in grades K-3. Title 1 services go through eighth grade.

Augusta has always displayed strong community support for its schools.
