According to the City Charter, the Fire Department administratively falls within the Department of Public Safety. The Fire Chief is the head of the Fire Department and is appointed by and reports to the Director of Public Safety. With approximately 46 full-time employees and an operating budget of approximately $4.8 million, the Fire Department is the second largest department within the City.
