Mission Statement:
‹Our first responsibility is to the animals under our care, those that come to us needing our care, and animal owners who look to us for help to find or keep their animals in good homes. We shelter and protect animals under our care, treating every life as precious. We provide foster care and training to improve adoptability with a goal of finding forever homes for the animals. We provide long term shelter care for hard-to-adopt animals and medical care as needed.
We are responsible to our community, region and beyond. We serve the community in ways that also benefit animals, providing outreach and educational services. We provide behavioral training, food pantry for financially challenged owners, and develop connections between people and pets. We are responsible for maintaining our facility and property as a healthy environment and making a positive impact on our surroundings.
We are responsible to our employees and volunteers. We ensure that they have a safe working environment and are appreciated, valued and respected. They are provided with education and training so they can perform their responsibilities to the highest standards of the animal welfare industry.
We are responsible to our contributors, who make our work possible. We take seriously our stewardship of their donated money and goods and must control expenses appropriately. We are committed to the continued expansion and improvement of services so that we continue to be recognized as the Leading No-Kill Shelter and Animal Welfare Organization in the region. Our goal is to ensure that each and every animal under our care is or becomes highly adoptable and receives a good start for a long, healthy, and happy life.
Vision:
Our staff and volunteers have been caring for and saving animals since 1947. Baywater Animal Rescue, a No Kill humane organization, is dedicated to the principle that every animal deserves to live. By working with people, implementing life-saving programs, and treating each life as precious, we have created an organization that positively affects the lives of countless animals and the people that care about them.
We also work to keep pets in their homes by providing resources for our community. We offer behavior counseling to help keep pets in homes and our pet food pantry offers food to those in need. We provide low-cost spay/neuter services in collaboration with veterinarians. Thousands of pets and people in our community are served each year through our efforts.
