Students are provided instruction from homeroom teachers in language arts, mathematics, social studies, science, and health. Specializing teachers provide for physical education, music, art, and services in our learning resource center (library and computer programs). Foreign language instruction in Spanish is provided for students in grades 2 - 5. Qualifying students also have the opportunity to receive instructional services from learning disabilities resource teachers, an academic achievement specialist, speech language pathologists, Channels of Challenge Gifted teachers, social workers, and a bilingual education teacher. The classroom for physically challenged students at Franklin School serves the needs of several Maine Township students.
Franklin School has an eMac computer lab in our LRC. There are also several more computers in each classroom. A wireless laptop lab cart is available for classroom use. This equipment provides direct instruction in computer skills (including keyboarding) as well as reinforcement of learning skills, and work-processing opportunities. This school has been fully networked so that each classroom has access to Internet services. All staff members are now accessible through e-mail.
