Story
Cathy and Bob Betz, M.W. founded Betz Family Winery with the 1997 harvest. After 25 years in the Washington wine industry we decided to craft a small amount of wine of our own. We make only red wines working with Bordeaux varieties and Syrah. Our flagship wine is Cabernet Sauvignon dominant, called "Pere de Famille" while our "Clos de Betz" has a greater concentration of Merlot. We also currently produce two Syrahs: "La Cote Rousse" from Red Mountain and "La Serenne" from mid-Yakima Valley fruit. We also have a Southern-Rhone-inspired wine called Besoleil, blended from Grenache, Mourvedre and Syrah. Grapes are sourced from specific, Betz-dedicated blocks in a selection of Washington's most conscientious growers who work with us to provide the character and quality of fruit that we desire. Our focused, artisan approach to winemaking allows us to produce wines of individual character, dimension and harmony. Wines are sold directly through our Mailing List and to selected shops and restaurants.
