Blue Moon Organics: When you subscribe to our CSA, you make a commitment to us, to our local economy, and to the environment.
And we make commitments to you: We put our very best produce in our CSA boxes. We pick the fresh produce that goes into your box within 24 hours of delivery. We give you an assortment of seasonal produce, not a bunch of similar items. (Although, by popular demand, we often include more than one basket of our strawberries.) When our own crops aren't quite ready to pick, we supplement with produce from other local farms whose quality we trust. We sometimes include unusual veggies so you can try new things, but we limit each weekly box to one unusual veggie and our newsletter suggests how to use it.
Our large Regular CSA box averages 12 items weekly, with veggies and a quarter fruit (often strawberries, and a variety of melons). Our large Fruitcentric box averages 11 items weekly, about half fruit. Our Small box averages 8 items, 2 of them fruit. Our CSA services the greater Bay Area at neighborhood drop-off locations. We are now accepting new members.
Blue Moon Organics is a family owned and operated farm specializing in high-quality, great-tasting organic produce since 2004. This spring of 2011 is our third season to offer a CSA membership, highlighting a diverse array of seasonal vegetable crops and our specialty fruit crops, which include strawberries and various melon varieties. In season, we also sell at farmers markets in the greater Bay Area. We extend our CSA drop-off locations to these areas as well. For 2011, our CSA will begin in late-April and will continue through mid-November. We are now accepting new members.
