In the past seven years Boomtown Days has grown immensely bringing with it new ideas and new opportunities for community involvement. Originally created as the Festival of the Four States, Boomtown Days quickly outgrew its humble beginnings as a Main Street festival that focused on the Arts in Joplin and the surrounding areas. New ideas to expand the Festival and new interest in sponsorship, volunteerism, planning and support led the Festival to its current home in Historic Landreth Park where it continues to grow and evolve each year.
Though the name and location of the Festival have changed in recent years, the primary goals remains the same: To create one of the premier festival events in the Midwest region by providing fun, family entertainment that will appeal to all ages and to continue to celebrate our community and the communities in the surrounding areas.
Each year, the Executive Committee, comprised of area leaders and volunteers, come together for months of planning and preparing in order to offer Festival attendees three days that are jam-packed with music, entertainment, kid's activities, contests, food, fun and more! Nearly 25 local business leaders sit on the Executive Planning Committee and work tirelessly alongside nearly 100 volunteers behind the scenes to ensure the success of this event each year.
