About Us:
Nestled along the banks of the Juniata, Mount Union, Pennsylvania, has a rich history. Nicknamed ‘Bricktown USA,’ the borough of Mount Union was at one point the world’s largest producer of silica bricks. A stop on the East Broad Top Railroad, the town once benefited from the region’s abundance of natural resources: bituminous coal, lumber, fur, and ganister rock.
Although the brickyards have closed and the East Broad Top Railroad is no longer operational, Mount Union is a community ‘on the move.’ The community’s close proximity to Raystown Lake, various walking and hiking trails, Creation Festival Northeast, a closeknit community, and unimpeded access to the Juniata River ensure that scenic, historic Mount Union will enjoy a bright future for many years to come.
